Seventh Annual Free Studen Athletic Mouthguard Day Another Huge Success

Door County Dental Care hosted its seventh annual ‘Free Student Athletic Mouthguard Day’ on Thursday, July 23rd  at 1:00pm.  All area student athletes were invited to receive a free custom-fit, team color-coordinated mouthguard.

Another great turnout this year as 65 local students were fitted for free, custom, team-color coordinated mouthguards. Door County Dental Care of Sturgeon Bay’s entire staff, along with several volunteers, got involved in the process. First the staff got impressions of the students’ mouths. Then staff and volunteers created the mouthguard molds, trimmed the mouthguard molds, and smoothed out the edges.

“We are grateful to Lords Dental Studio for their help and donations as well as all of the families who brought their kids in,” said Dr. Luders. “By doing so it helped us to do our part in preventing unnecessary mouth injury to the kids in our community.”

Dr. Hubbard and Dr. Luders recommend that a new, custom-fit mouthguard be crafted each year because as students grow, their bodies change and so does their mouth structure. For more information or to make an appointment, visit click here or call (920) 743-6911.
