On Monday December 7, 2015 Door County Dental Care gave a presentation at Pine Crest Village, an assisted living facility in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. Dr. Regan Luders and Sherry Bagnall focused on the challenges of oral health in the aging population.
A 2000 report from the US Surgeon General found disparities in the oral health status of older Americans. Unfortunately statistics show that over 25% of individuals between the ages of 65 and 74 have periodontal disease and approximately 5% of Americans aged 65 and older live in long term care facilities where dental care may be insufficient. 1
Door County Dental would like to thank the thirteen participants for the opportunity to present on an important topic in modern dentistry.
