Fixed Bridges

If you have a gap in your mouth from a missing tooth, you may be a candidate for a fixed bridge. A fixed bridge replaces a missing tooth by using 2 anchored crowned teeth (called abutment teeth) and a false tooth in the middle (called a pontic). The abutment teeth need to be strong and health in order for the bridge to be fully supported. Dental bridges can be made of metal, porcelain, or a combination of the two. Our skilled dentists can prepare and place your bridge in two visits. At the first visit, the dentist will prepare the abutment teeth, an impression will be taken that will be used to create the bridge, and the patient will leave with a temporary bridge. The second visit consists of fitting and cementing the permanent bridge into place. Our dental team will also go through dental hygiene instructions on cleaning around the bridge and will give you tools to use at home. If you are unsure if a fixed bridge is right for you, please call our office today to schedule a consultation or evaluation where our dentists will provide you with their recommendations.
