Tooth Bonding

Tooth bonding, or cosmetic bonding, is perfect for a chipped tooth, slightly misaligned or imperfect tooth, decayed tooth, discolored teeth, and gaps between teeth. This quick and easy procedure can be done in one office visit. We start by roughening the tooth surface and apply a conditioning gel, which is rinsed off the tooth after 20 seconds. A bonding material, which is composed of a liquid composite resin, is then applied. The next step is the resin, which is comparable to sculptor’s clay. The resin is bonded to the tooth surface in order to build-up or contour the tooth and hardened with a curing light. The last step in creating your beautiful smile is polishing the bonded tooth. Please note that the bonding typically lasts 5 to 10 years, so touch-ups may be needed. If you are interested in cosmetic bonding but are not sure if you are a candidate, please call our office to schedule an evaluation where we will recommend the best option for you!
